MPT launches cash-in service for MPU, Visa, MasterCard, JCB, UnionPay cardholders

Myanmar operator MPT, via its MPT Money digital money service, has expanded its cash-in service (converting cash into e-money) by allowing customers to cash-in using their MPU, Visa, MasterCard, JCB and UnionPay cards and NearMe Shops. The new feature will allow MPT Money customers to cash-in on their E-Wallet accounts using their payment cards and customers can cash-in at the nearest shop accepting payments.

The new service feature will allow MPT Money customers with Myanmar-issued MPU, Visa, MasterCard, JCB or UnionPay-branded cards to cash-in on their e-wallets by using the MPT Money app. The minimum MMK 5,000 cash-in amount will be required in order to proceed with the operation, MPT said.

NearMe Shops allow customers to make payments at local shops, convenience stores, supermarkets, and petrol stations. MPT Money currently collaborates with more than 500 merchants including City Mart, City Express, Ocean, City Mart Marketplace, Oasis, Amazing Mart & Amazing Mall, Life Plus, RH & RV Mobile, Aeon Orange Super Market, and Carrefour Easy, as well as Denko petrol stations. MPT Money customers will now be able to use the NearMe Shops to cash-in cash into their mobile wallets without any transaction fees with a minimum MMK 10,000 cash-in amount per transaction.
